Keep in mind the dlc expansions were done by a different team than Bungie, so make of that what you will.2K and Gearbox Software have announced that more downloadable content will be available for Borderlands 2 this fall. The dlc to Borderlands 2 just added to a great game, but the dlc to Destiny made it into a good game. Getting marks in Destiny 1 allowed you to outright buy legendaries.īorderlands 2, unlike TPS and 1, has you grinding to get halfway decent gear.ĭestiny 2 is about on par with 1 in terms of disappointment and content, my advice is to wait for the dlc. The key difference is that Borderlands 2 is a grind fest because of an unintentionally piss poor drop rate and Destiny 2 is like that by intentional design.ĭestiny has a grind for progress points and there's always a tangible goal in sight, so in its defense, you know for a fact that your grinding will pay off eventually. I love Borderlands, I'm playing it now and Destiny has its high points on occasion, but they're both grind fests. Borderlands enemies barely take the bait, but in destiny, Cyril Figgis would be a godsend. You can't dodge attacks as regularly and there's a huge difference in how well you can utilize suppressing fire or aggro. Destiny 2 deeply punishes a team that's trying to carry a less skilled player through a harder strike.īorderlands hands down has worse gunplay. There's loot, there's comraderie, but Borderlands rewards syncopation between teammates in terms of builds whereas in destiny it's about your skill level. In Borderlands 2, say what you want, but the guns feel very different and the quests on the story are, with the exception of Big Game Hunt, epic.ĭestiny didn't get those right. This comes from a player with hours upon hours in borderlands 2 and 1that went up to OP8 and that has 800+ hours in destiny 1 and running up the hours in D2. So if your willing to take a chance, I’m sure it will repay and fill the itch the same way and hopefully more than it’s predecessor. However I do believe destiny 2 will bounce back even bigger then destiny one, bungie is already planning regular dlc every 3 months or so and I’m sure with the massive out cry that was similarly the same outcry in destiny 1, bungie will change the way the game is now. But with having to go from four raids to one left a massive void. As having four raids at the end of destiny one, destiny 2 has one alone, which is underwhelming, seeming that it is the mighty cabal empire. The story’s quite underwhelming and endgame is mediocre. It ripped the great taste of destiny one had at the end out and simplified that theme to its simplest version, variations of the same weapons went away, as they gave each weapon set perks that would stay the same no matter how many versions you got, Strike specific guns were also removed and strikes were made useless, exotics were also crapped and on and not many exotic guns or armour pieces now feel ‘exotic’. Sadly destiny 2 went back on itself in a major way. Destiny 1 finished of great even tho it had a bad start, after the taken king dlc it was a complete revamp in terms of grind, weapons out the arse that you could grind to the teeth for, like borderlands it mirrored different variations of the same/other guns that would be useful, that theme continued to the end where eventually, you would have four hour /1h30 min raids to do each week and set exotics for each one when it was the selected raid for the week. Me and my friend were the same, put a lot of hours into borderlands titles and were beginning to itch for more, switched to destiny and have played religiously since. Edit : sorry for the poor grammar in advance
